Welcome to Piedmont Presbyterian church

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

The mission of Piedmont Presbyterian Church is "To be a beacon of light" presence in the local community, while participating in the larger worldwide ministry of Jesus Christ through the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.
Brief message from Rev. Marcia Jaureguizar, DMin.

Thank you for welcoming me to serve with you. I have been a Presbyterian for as long as I can remember and have served in various ways in the church, but only recently did I feel the call to pastoral ministry. I am a second-career pastor, having graduated from Union Seminary in Richmond in 2004, and I have been the Associate for Visitation and nurtures at Opequon Presbyterian in Winchester since then. Before that, I worked as an elementary school librarian while my husband, Mike, and I raised our son and daughter. They are both grown and married now and have given us five grandchildren whom we adore. Mike works for a company that administers grant funding our government provides to many African nations for health programs, so I tell him he is really in a ministry, too.

I am excited to be coming to Piedmont and, I hope to get to know each of you over the next few months as we worship, work and minister together. I pray that God will bless all our efforts to serve there in Piedmont as we try to be God’s hands and heart, and as we witness to God’s amazing love and grace in Jesus Christ. .
A message from Rev. Richard Slider, DMin.

A very brief description of my background reveals that I am retired (since July 2009), having served as the senior pastor for the Presbyterian Parish of the Valleys in Shenandoah Presbytery. I am originally from Richmond, VA., and have served as pastor to churches in Louisiana and Virginia. I was an elder in First Presbyterian Church of Magnolia, Arkansas, prior to being called to serve as a Minister of Word and Sacrament. My wife, Patty, and I have two children and two grandchildren. We live in Stephens City, VA. We are excited about the opportunities here in Piedmont Presbyterian Church as together we move towards God’s future mission in the area and throughout the world.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6, 27
