We have a small but growing church choir. Our current members, Kaitlyn, Denise, Kermit, Barb, Lori, Maxine, Sandra, and Kim join with our pianist, Pat, and our director, Laurie, to make a joyful noise each Sunday from September to June. We practice in the sanctuary on Monday evenings at 7 P.M. and right before church in the choir room each Sunday at 10:45 A.M.
Anyone who would like to join us for a week or eternity is certainly welcome!
We sing some traditional hymns, some contemporary praise songs, and lots of music in between. (We have a lot of fun, too!) We usually do special music for Christmas and Easter and encourage soloists and small groups to sing for services in the summer. We sing for our Lord, not for perfection. You’ll often hear Laurie exclaim, “Sing it like you mean it!” in a rehearsal. That’s what it’s all about. If you’re considering joining and just aren’t sure, remember the words of the Sesame Street gang: “Don’t worry if you’re not good enough for anyone else to hear. Just sing, sing a song!”
