
November 9th - Coffee Hour following church service welcoming our new minister!
November 10th - Presbyterian Women will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 10 A.M.
November 23rd - The Tri-Towns community will come together in Thanksgiving. The Worship Service sponsored by the ministerium will be held at The Church of the Brethren in Westernport on Sunday, Nov 23 at 3:00.
November 30th - The "Lights of Love" Concert for "Warm the Children" and "Toys for Joy" will begin at 5:00 in our sanctuary. Local entertainers will perform and donations will be collected.
The first Sunday of Advent is November 30. The children will present Advent banners beginning that Sunday during worship and the Sundays leading to Christmas as we prepare the way.
December 7th - Trinity Methodist Church will be the site of the community Christmas service. It will begin at 5:00.
December 14th - We will celebrate the Christmas season with our church family luncheon on Sunday, December 14, following the worship service.
December 24th - Christmas Eve Candlelight service will begin at 7:00 with the choir featured during the worship service. Plan to attend this special occasion.

The first Sunday of each month has been designated as collection Sunday for the Food Pantry. Non-perishable food items are continually needed. Specific requests right now from the Food Pantry committee are for canned spinach and baked beans. All donations are needed and appreciated.

Brief bio for Dr. Sommer:
Beginning November 2, Dr. Sommer will be leading worship as our part-time supply minister. He will be living in McCoole during his time with us (two or three days per week). He can be reached at the church by calling 304 355 8614.
He lives in Stephens City, Virginia with his wife, Kathleen. Together they have operated a part time catering business, K&P Hospitality, since 2003. They have four grown children and two grandchildren.
Dr. Sommer graduated from Moravian College in 1967 with a BA in History; in 1970 he received his MDiv degree from Princeton Theology Seminary, and in 1981 he earned his doctorate from McCormick Theological Seminary. At the present time he serves Shenandoah Presbytery as a member of the Permanent Judical Commission, is chair of the Divesture Task Force, and has participated in two mission trips to Baja with Kathleen and others from the Presbytery.
He has served churches in Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia.
We will welcome Pastor Phil with a coffee hour after worship on November 9.
